
On November 12, 2025, Argentina’s Senate awarded Federico Carrone the Mención de Honor al Valor Científico, the chamber’s annual distinction for scientific and technical contribution.1 The ceremony was held in the Salón Azul of the National Congress.
The award
The Mención de Honor al Valor Científico is granted by the Senate’s Comisión de Ciencia y Tecnología. The 2025 ceremony was led by Senator Silvina García Larraburu and Senator Víctor Zimmermann, president and vice president of the commission, and the recipient list includes INVAP, the Academia de Ciencias Médicas de Córdoba, research institutions, schools, foundations, and individual researchers.1

The Senate’s citation describes Carrone’s work as distinguished by “combining science, engineering, cybersecurity, education, and community” and by turning frontier research into concrete solutions that strengthen national development.1
