Sovra Introduces Propia, a Public Trust Layer for Credentials

In August, Sovra introduced Propia, a public trust layer for verifiable credentials, built with Lambda and Aligned. It is an Ethereum validium that stores no personal data in its registries.¹²

Architecture

Propia consists of three public registries. The issuer registry records which institutions may issue which credential types, under which trust framework and jurisdiction. The identifier registry records which keys control an identifier. The status registry publishes suspension and revocation state. Credential contents and personal data stay between issuers, holders, and verifiers. SovraChain, the underlying network, is an ethrex validium operated through Aligned’s rollup-as-a-service and is being moved onto Aligned’s proof aggregation service.²

Nuevo León

In September 2026, the government of Nuevo León, Mexico, launched Billetera NLínea, presented as the first government wallet in Mexico. Governor Samuel García announced it at a regional CIAPEM forum. The wallet was built with Sovra.³²

Bogotá

Bogotá is developing a citizen SuperApp for public services, financed by CAF, the development bank of Latin America, under a cooperation agreement signed on March 2, 2026. Its credential layer runs on Propia and SovraWallet.⁴⁵
